Medicine for the Greater Good strives to know the science, know the patients, and know the community in order to achieve one of the promises of medicine: healthy people and healthy neighborhoods. We train healthcare professionals to engage with the community in order to assure this promise is fulfilled Panagis Galiatsatos is the co-founder and co-director of Medicine for the Greater Good, a community engagement initiative for healthcare professionals in training, allowing them to have meaningful partnerships with the local community. His research focus is on community engagement and health disparities, and has recently authored “Building Healthy Communities through Medical-Religious Partnerships”. Further, he investigates how community engagement can be a valuable tool to offset burnout many physicians-in-training are experiencing.
